What Causes Sickness And Burning Sensation In Throat After Quitting Smoking?

Hey. I quit smoking and then got sick immediately, and now my throat burns pretty badly in the morning when I wake up and in the evenings after around 8pm. I ve heard this is a common problem, but the thing is, I only smoked for about 2 months. Is that long enough to warrant such a painful withdrawal?
