What Causes Sickness Feeling And Periods While Taking Malaria Pills?

My daughter is on a mission trip taking Malaria pills and staying in a dorm with about 20 other girls. She has woken up the past 7 days and has gotten sick but then feels fine the rest of the day. They have changed the time she is taking the pill but she is still getting sick. Do you think it is the pill she is taking, or hormones (she did get her period down there which was not within her normal cycle) or something else?

It is most likely that the pills that she's on can be causing a form of gastritis - irritating her stomach lining. It usually manifests as early morning nausea. It should be a mild problem and may not be a cause for worry.
