Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
from the symptoms you are having, it is suggestive that you might be having
iron deficiency anaemia.
Kindly get the following tests done:
1.
Complete blood count with Peripheral smear examination.
2.
Serum Iron and Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) levels.
If the tests are suggestive of iron deficiency, as suspected, kindly take the following medications:
1. Iron capsules in the form of
ferrous sulfate is 325 mg (65 mg of elemental iron) orally three times a day after food.
2. Vitamin C (500 units) with the iron pill once daily.
3.
Folic acid 400 mcg orally once a day.
Avoid beverages for coffee or tea as it will interfere with iron absorption. Consume diet rich in iron like jaggery and folic acid like dark green leafy vegetables.
Your symptoms should get better in a week to ten days. You need to continue the treatment for one month and recheck with the tests to see weather the response is adequate or not.
Hope the information provided is clear.
Get well soon.
