Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sinus Pressure Along With Headache And Blocked Ear?
I have been feeling sinus pressure, headache and blocked right ear. The sinus pressure and headache have been going on for 4-5 days and the blocked ear for about 2-3 days. The ear is not really painful. It feels like there is a little pressure in the ear and it also feels like when you have water in the ear. It sounds like that too. When i tilt my head all the way back or forward it feel like it is not blocked anymore. As soon as I put my head straight it feels blocked again. What could be wrong and must I consult my doctor or will it clear on its own?
I think you are having sinusitis, congestion and inflammation of sinuses. Possibly it can be allergic sinusitis because you are not having a fever or thick yellow secretions. You may need to take antihistamines such benadryl or cetirizine to help stop the allergic sinusitis. Also decongestants such pseudoephedrine or phenylephrine can be used.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
