Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have sinus tachycardia. My cardiologist said it is cause by something outside of the heart. I had graves disease years ago and had the thyroid irradiated 20 years ago. My TSH is right in the middle now. I also have great trouble sleeping. Sometimes I seem very overactive. In the last several months I have had problems waking because of being too hot. I am 67 and long past menopause. I am gluten intolerant with stable GI problems.
Other things that can cause sinus tachycardia includes:
-Anxiety or emotional distress.
-A fever.
-Some medications
-Stimulants, such as caffeine or nicotine
-Recreational drugs, such as cocaine
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Esmeralda Sera,
Oncologist
