Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Skin Bruises Along With Pain And Swelling In The Feet?
My friend is 42. He drinks alcohol everyday. When he urinated it is never a steady stream and I don t know if this is relevant but, his skin bruises very easy. He doesn t have health insurance so it is difficult for him to go to the doctor and get the testing that he needs. He also has periods of pain and swelling in his right foot and ankle. It also happens in his left elbow. Any advice or help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I am very worried about him. Sincerely, Karen.
Hi... Can understand your concern.... As per your query, easy skin bruising with pain and swelling in feet is due to alcoholism...Excessive and long term use of alcohol causes cirrhosis of liver which is vital organ of body and proteins ,enzymes, clotting factors are synthesised and fat metabolism occurs.... I suggest you to consult a general physician for a proper examination and evaluation. Investigation like ultrasound abdomen and blood examination for lipids profile and liver enzymes is needed. Slowly reduce the alcohol and quit it forever. Avoid fatty diet. Take more fruits and vegetables in diet. I hope the information helps you. Take care.
