Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Skin Lesions On Hands, Scalp And Feet Post Ganglion Cyst Removal Surgery?
I had surgery to remove some ganglion cysts on my thumb and wrist which didn t heal properly. About 2 months after I broke out with water filled skin lesions on my hands, scalp, feet, and back. After 2 rounds of prednisone with no help, skin biopsies which said I had celiacs. I had a severe reaction to dapsone. I have never had any stomach issues and am 67. Now I am on a glutton free diet but am still getting skin lesions on my scalp and hands. Could this been possibly misdiagnosed and instead be a staph infection?
The diiagnosis of Celiac is known to have narrated multiple skin lesions with water filling and no response to steroids as well. However, if there is results of skin biopsy report available (of course if conducted previously), better guidelines can be figured out ahead to possible management pathway from this point.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
