Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a lot of particles that looked like skin floating in my urine today. No burning, frequency or urgency. Light yellow. I have been getting a low pelvic pressure after I urinate and randomly in the last few weeks. Better now. I am on a diuretic for fluid retention to help with my BP. I did recently switch bc pills from an estrogen/ progestin mix to norethibdrone , the heather pill (one hormone only). No estrogen. Then I stopped that all together. I m 40. Been on pill since 19years old. Have apparently been having this skin looking stuff a little while. Had seen it in commode but had explained it away to toilet paper, someone else, etc. please if u have any insight?
Hello, thanks for posting on HCM. Skin like cells in urine area called as epithelial cells or it could be just hyaline or WBC casts. It will be better examined under microscope, therefore it’s advisable for you to undergo a routine urine examination which will tell us exactly what it is. Normally it is present in small quantity in urine but if it is increased it may point toward some urinary infection or inflammation. So better get an urine routine examination and consult your physician or get back to me with the report. I hope I have given satisfactory answer to your query, if you still have any more query kindly write back to me and I will be happy to help. Thank you
