Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
The skin on my hands and elbows are peeling. I m not sure what caused it. I just happened to notice it one day. I have had unprotected sex. Also, I worked at a warehouse facility where I had to throw jugs in a grinder. I wasn t wearing gloves but that doesn t account for my elbows. I apply lotion everyday that seems to help but the skin is still visible. The other day I was using a screwdriver and my hands blistered up immediately. I m scared there could be an underlying issue that is the cause of this. Also, I had a patchy dry spot on my lip about a month ago. It has gone away now but at the time applying Chapstick didn t really cure the patch.
When did you have unprotected sex and how many times? Do you partner/s have any disease that can be transmitted by unprotected sex. If you donot know the answert to this question, its better to get tested. Regarding peeling of skin, it could be due to simple allergy. Anti allergic mediacation and mild steroidointments should help you. But you must see your GP first.
