What Causes Skin Rashes On The Lower Back And Leg?

I have developed a skin rash on the lower (back) of one leg.....approximately 50 spots. not itchy. Now the same rash is showing up on the other leg. I have not recently been in the woods or worked in the yard for the past 7 days. I have not been out in the heat for it to be a heat rash. No new soaps, lotions, new kinds of foods either?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it can be most probably an allergic eruption however, due to the exposure in woods and forest, rickettsia infection should be ruled out. Baseline blood counts to look for platelets counts as well as clotting profile and platelets function tests may be needed for other causes of the spots. Inflammatory markers may also be needed to rule out any rash related to systemic infections. It's better to get an infectious diseases specialist review if it persists.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
