What Causes Skin Tenderness On The Left Scapula Despite Using Advil?
My wife s skin over her left scapula is so tender it can t stand being touched. It also itches constantly and has underlying muscle pain that is helped by Advil or Percocet. It has been this way for two days. She is 65 and diabetic, very out of shape and fat.

The pain on her skin can be due to a local trauma as she also has underlying muscle pain in the area. I would just give her Advil, local cold or warm compresses and keep an eye on her symptoms.
If blisters start on the area then shingles is the likely cause. This is also a self-limited condition and will get better in a couple of weeks. Sometimes, oral antivirals are used to help speed the healing and they should be started within 3 days of the blisters starting.
