Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Skipped Heart Beats And Heart Palpitations?
It seems like on a daily basis my heart skips a beat or palpitates. I notice it more after I eat or around the time of my monthly cycle. I have had holter monitors, ultrasound of my heart & treadmill but it shows nothing. Im currently taking propranolol but doesnt seem to help any. Any suggestions?
I would like to tell you that you cannot feel the entire heartbeat, then how will you know it's skipping a beat? Holter monitorings are accurate. If you're having any stress then you should act on reducing that. Don't worry about this thing. It might be just nothing. Still you can get an echocardiography to check the structure of the heart. And a printed ECG also to see the waves. Kindly follow up with the reports.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
