What Causes Sleep Apnea, Shortness Of Breath, Headaches And Swelling In Legs?

My husband is 32 years old and 6 4, 550-575 lbs. he recently checked his blood pressure and it was 168/113. He also has sleep apnea, shortness of breath, headaches and his legs are swollen. I am very concerned he may have a heart attack or stroke. Is this an emergency?

His numbers are very concerning for obvious reasons. I'm going to guess that he's had these problems for some time since you say he's been diagnosed with sleep apnea, the weight is obviously chronically present and his BP is likely the same. He absolutely needs to follow medical advice to the letter if it's been given to him in order to get things under control or there is a very probable chance that a major consequence will occur. If he is following medical advice and things aren't working then, he has to let someone know that it's not working and a change in the plan needs to happen.
