What Causes Sleepiness Despite Having Parkinson S Disease?
I have a problem with my calf muscles and couldn t sleep at night. And I got Parkinson s Decease, is these connected? Sometimes I don t sleep for 3 nights and I m sleepy in the morning when I m at work. I m taking the bus to work, so I just sleep all the way to work. Every time it stop, I open my eyes to check if I have not missed my stop. Other thing is that I don t have a deep sleep. Thanks, Maria
Excessive sleep and fatigue may be associated with Parkinson's disease. However, not getting good sleep in the night is the commonest reason for day time sleepiness.
Your calf pain may be because of restless leg syndrome, or some vitamins or vitamin d deficiency. You should talk to your doctor about this.
Once that's is sorted out and you get a sound sleep in the night. Hopefully, you will be better in the day.
Also, check out of you are taking any drug that may cause excessive sleep in the day.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
