What Causes Sleepless And Numbness In The Hand After Taking Prednisone?

I m taking pednisone 20mg the last 2 days for my pain in my upper spine right shoulder & down my arm to my fingers it hasn t reduced much of the pain yet. I do take a multi vitamin +50 over every day. I did have some relieve yesterday morning & was able to function but tonight/morning I m up & cant sleep with bad pains again. I don t suppose to take this only in the morning 3 tablets with food. My hand fingers are kind of nom. I done some knitting yesterday as I was feeling better. I picked up a heavy crockpot with water & beans inside & I don t know if that caused the pain being strong again. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The numbness in hands during sleep is a sign of cervical spine disease such as spondyloarthrosis. This doesn't happen by taking corticosteroid injections but is a sign of your disease. It may get better by steroid injection. You need to wait for some days till it gives its desirable effects.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
