What Causes Sleeplessness Along With Heartburn And Bloating After Mirena Removal?
Hello ! I had my Mirena IUD taken out on 7/14/15 it had been placed for 5 years and was due to expire in two weeks. Ever since I got it taken out, I cannot sleep ! I have to be up at 3:30am for work and I don t fall asleep until midnight or later, where before I couldn t manage until 9. I also have had ALOT of heart burn, bloating and a strange heaviness from my belly button to my knees. It felt like I had this small top half and a HUGE lower half and it made my legs feel weird like I couldn t hardly move them. Is this normal for a Mirena removal ? Thank you !Sarah

This might be related to removal of mirena IUD addition to that Heartburn and bloating could be caused by acid peptic disease or acid reflux due to stomach hyperacidity or aerophagia ( swallowing of air ).
If I were your treating doctor I would have advised you to take anti acidity medicine like pantoprazole or ranitidine group of drugs with antacids for 5 to 7 days
You should avoid fatty fried spicy and junk.food
Have lots of fresh fruits and raw or steamed vegetables
complete abstinence of alcohol or smoking is required.
