What Causes Slight Bleeding After Taking Norethisterone?
Hi i had my menses in early May and it took almost towards the end of the month to reduce from bleeding to spotting..since then i visit the doctor and they prescribe me norethisterone to take in within 10 days...the first two day seems fine as there is no blood..however, on the third day, there is some blood appearing. Is it normal to have while on the pill?
Usually, this medication will stop bleeding within 48 hours of starting the treatment as it already occurred in your case. However, some women has reported to start spotting even while taking this medication as you also reported. It seems like you're having some hormonal imbalance. I recommend to go back to your caring gynecologist and report this spotting to him/her in order to get further exams and make appropriate changes.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
