What Causes Slight Bleeding After Taking Postinor-2?
My gf took postinor-2 at 6 am and she notiched that she had little amount of blood at afternoon. what was it for? was that the side effects of postinor? My gf said that she had already 2 days period delayed. How can can sure that she is pregnant or not?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Postinor - 2 is a post-coital pill, which needs to be taken within 48 hours after unprotected intercourse. Postinor-2 tablets contains the active ingredient levonorgestrel and it is progestogen-only contraceptive. The regime it needs to be taken is one tablet within 72 hours following intercourse and another 12 hours after taking the first pill. If she has followed this, then the drug should work well. Occasional spotting is one of the side effects. If she does not get her period within 3 weeks of taking the tablets, she must see the doctor, as she may be pregnant. This can be confirmed by getting Urine Pregnancy Test (UPT) done with the Pregnancy kit. Hope the information provided is helpful. All the best.
