What Causes Slight Upper Right-sided Chest Pain And Cough?
I occasionally have slight pain in the upper right side of my chest. I just had a mammogram a few weeks ago and everything was fine. Thought maybe I could have gotten a slight bruise from the machine? Or, it is something I should be concerned about? I have no other symptoms, other than an occasional cough.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
First of all no need to worry about major illnesses as your mammography is normal. The possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more likely. So follow these steps for better symptomatic relief in musculoskeletal pain.
1. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise. 2. Avoid movements causing pain. Avoid sudden jerky movements of chest and back. 3. Apply warm water pad on affected areas of the chest. 4. Take simple painkiller like paracetamol or ibuprofen.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar
