Im in hospital with a suspected minor heart attact, ecg had what they think was a little abnormal, traponin levels slightly raised, im 41 88 kg, smoker for 27 years, heart desease runs in the family Angiogram tomoro, is it likely iv pe phad a minor heart attack and will i likely need stents ? All other heart tests were fine
It is possible, since troponin is specific to the heart that it may have been a minor heart attack particularly with a history of smoking for 27 years.
Smoking is associated with an increased risk of heart disease and the family history of heart disease would increase the risk.
The need for a stent would depend on what is seen on angiogram. If there is significant blockage of blood supply to the heart then the stents would be needed.
Hi...welcome to hcm... If you have high troponin levels and abnormal ECG and chest pain then it is possible that you are having a great attack and if so you may require a stent.
