My grandson doesn t make eye contact easily...is fascinated with the ceiling fan...is slow developing...is 18 months old...doesnt walk...can;t stand alone for any length of time...only says something that sounds like da...doesn t wave bye...I have reared 6 children and his behavior troubles me... Hi, Thanks for writing in HCM. Well, from some of the things what you have described, it appears that there is some sort of delay in achieving physical and mental milestones in the child. This certainly needs evaluation and intervention. One of the reasons for this could be genetic defects, foetal alcohol syndrome, fragile x syndrome or inborn error of amino acid/carbohydratemetabolism. Kindly seek help from Pediatrician immediately as early intervention is key in helping your child overcome any developmental delays. Wish you all the best.
