What Causes Slow Reduction Of Blood Sugar Level After Medicine?

I had fasting sugar reading of 180 when I started taking medicine for diabetic control along with complete stopping of sugar/ sweats and reduction in carbs + walking for an hour everyday. Today , after five days the fasting sugar level is 164. Is not the reduction slow ?

Hello,
Carry on with your medications, dietary control measures and exercises and get the sugar levels examined again after 5-6 days.In case sugar levels are still high you would need to either increase the current dosages or change the medications. There is no fixed formula for the control of your blood sugar levels and it has to be done by hit and try formula. It may take some time for your blood sugar levels to get controlled and hence you need to be patient and be in regular touch with your doctor.
Thanks
