What Causes Slurred Speech After A Hemorrhagic Stroke?
My dad had a hemorrhagic stroke Tuesday. He is having some slurred speech and when he walked with assistance I ve noticed foot drop and he isn t able to hold anything with his left hand at all. He can t move his fingers much. Plus he is having double vision. They moved him to rehab today. What should we expect? Will he regain function again. He was still working until this happened
After going trough your query I understand your concern.
I would like to tell you first about hemorrhagic stroke. in this bleeding occurs directly in brain parenchyma and damage occurs quickly due to pressure if increasing amount of blood in brain. Blood is an irritating to the brain tissue causing it to swell. And all this leads to long term disability or death.
Slurred speech, foot drop and double vision are Focal symptoms of stroke that need a long term treatment and followups with neurologist. Recovery after CVA takes time.
Kind regards
