I was on the phone with my Mom 2 hours ago.For a period of about 3 minutes, she was having a hard time saying the right words, she knew what she wanted to say- but couldn t choose the correct words & became frustrated & confused. She is 87, has had two heart attacks, open heart surgery & two stent surgeries-the last of which was in March. She is fine now, had no muscle weakness or dizziness.Should I take her to the ER? Thank you.
Yes you should rush her to the E.R. this in all Probability is a stroke. May have been caused by a blood clot. You should get an m.r.i. brain done urgently to know the site of bleed/clot. She may even need neurosurgery. Please be urgent about this.
