What Causes Slurred Speech And Memory Loss In A Opioid Addict?
Dr. Rynne,Thank you for taking my question. I have a 30 year old son who has been addicted to . He works for our family business and has been drug tested. He recently cannot sleep, stays up all night, can t remember his girlfriend s email address, his text messages have words all turned around, his speech is hushed and garbled and he s afraid to go to the hospital. We finally put an ultimatum that he seek medical assistance before reporting back to work. Obviously we suspect that he may have gone on to other drugs and that he s waiting on the symptoms to wane. But he s refusing to go to the ER. He told me today that he s afraid they will tell him he s crazy . Apart from the fact that he needs to get checked, your thoughts and possibilities. Thanks in advance for your reply. Bill Creekbaum
