What Causes Slurred Speech, Temporary Paralysis And Loss Of Limb Function?
Very rarely my son gets stroke like symptoms; slurred speech, temporary paralysis, loss of limb functions. This comes on by first a tingling sensation in his hand and it progress over an hour. Then all starts to go away in the same way. A migraine comes after. This has happened 3 times over the last 7 years, so its not a common occurrence. The original diagnosis was that these stroke like symptoms were signs that he was getting a migraine. I don t buy that. It just happened again this evening. He s now
hello. the symptoms you have mentioned are suggesting transient ischemic attack or minor stroke. However with headache, it suggests hemiplegic migraine. I suggest you have a look at this term on Internet. There's ample information available. A third possibility is seizures and epilepsy.
I would suggest testing MRI of the Brain and EEG.
