General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Motor speech disorder unusually results in slurring of speech due to damage to the part of the brain related to speaking. Other causes in the elderly can be neurological disorders like cerebral atrophy, brain tumours, injury, stroke, facial paralysis.

Get your father physically examined, evaluated & treated. Neglect may lead to life-threatening complications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
