What Causes Slurred Speech While On Treatment For Pneumonia?

My 62 year old brother has symptoms of a stroke, but tests proved neg. Weak limbs, slurred speech, slow movement.. Someone mentioned JC Virus, Heard a person died 2 months after their diagnosis. He had been taking drugs for a reoccurring pneumonia. Could that make him susceptible to getting the virus...Is there any cure for this, otherwise could ALS hit a person one morning after no previous symptoms?..We have more tests tomorrow..MIR included...Thanks for any info.

As per your history please follow -:
1)Do a neurological clinical examination if any deficit present then do [MRI]
2)Do full blood count with differential
