What Causes Slurred Speech?

I have a sister that suddenly began speaking in a much slower and slurred tone. this has been the case for several months not and doesn,t show any sign of improving. she is seventy years old , And the entire family has noticed it. We asked her too slow down but she denies any change.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Thank you for posting in HCM.
There could be multiple reasons for slurred speech.
However, at this age, some baseline lab investigations should be done in order to get an idea about the general health of the patient.
They include complete blood picture, Liver and kidney function tests, fasting lipid profile and ECG.
Her blood pressure needs to be monitored as high blood pressure may cause cerebro vascular accidents that in some patients may present like this.
