Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi! I have somewhat of a slurred speech this morning and the way i found out was when I answered the phone. I don t seem to have any other symptoms. Checked blood pressure twice and both readings appeared to be normal (146/77; 139/79). I don t have a headache, dizziness, etc. Can you suggest what I should do? Thanks.
Slurring of speech could be the first and preceding symptom of brain stroke. As your blood pressure seems to be on the higher side, I would recommend you to consult a physician and undergo complete work-up (especially blood sugars, lipid profile) and if deemed necessary after physical examination by your physician, you may have to undergo CT scan of brain too.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Bright Jebaraj S
