Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have a small bump along the line of my upper lip. It isn't painful. It has been there for about a month and is still the same size. It looks like it has a whole or dent in it (possibly because I've been messing with it) its has started to get a dark brown color over the last couple of days. What is this? is there something i can take
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a bump on upper lip along with a dent can be a swollen Sebaceous Gland or can be a cold sore caused by Herpes virus infection.. It can also be due to allergic reaction to some cosmetic or can even be a pimple.. Bacterial infection due to some infected cosmetics can be a cause.. I would suggest you to consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and treatment can be planned according to the cause confirmed.. As of now avoid any lip/skin cosmetics, apply Petroleum jelly to lubricate the lips.. You can also apply Aloevera gel as along with lubricating property it also has a property of antibacterial and antifungal action..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
