What Causes Small Bumps On Knees In A 6 Year Old?

My son is six. He has had little bumps on his knees for many months now. They don t bother him and are not red and it s the only part of his body he has them. But they don t seem to go. What could be the cause and is there anything we could or should do?

Understanding your concern. As per your query there are small bumps on knees in a 6 year old. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like molluscum contagiosum , contact dermatitis , psoriasis or eczema. I would suggest you to keep the area clean and dry , apply petroleum jelly and apply cold compresses . Consult pediatrician for proper examination . Doctor may order certain test like skin patch test abd physical examination. Doctor may prescribe corticosteroid ointment , immunosuppressants or anti vital drugs .
