Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have developed small bumps on my upper thighs and buttocks about the size of average pimple covering an area about the area of my palm and fingers and they sometimes itch. This is on both sides. I also have reddish areas on the inside of my thighs with an irregular shape about the area of my palm which appeared about 6 weeks ago.
Your symptoms seem to be related to dry skin. Dry skin can cause keratosis pilaris. It is a condition characterized by numerous small, red little bumps around hair follicles on the thighs, buttocks, and cheeks. I suggest to use a moisturizer to avoid dry skin. You can also use antihistamines such as Cetirizine 10 mg daily to relieve the itching. I recommend to use a gentle soap for cleaning which does not cause skin dryness.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
