What Causes Small Cyst In Between Thumb And Index Finger?
Hi! I had surgery about two years ago when I broke my wrist. I have developed a small cyst between my thumb and index finger. It does not hurt. I have done a little research and think it is a ganglion cyst. Can this have occured because of my surgery? Thanks!
You had surgery of the wrist about 2 yrs ago as you broke it. Presently you have developed a small cyst between thumb and index finger. It does not hurt. There is some possibility of post-surgery complication. It can also be due to overuse, some type of blunt trauma or injury, ganglion cyst. etc.
To confirm if it is a cyst, inflamed tendon, infection, nodule formed due to tendonitis, ganglion cyst, etc., you are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP. Neglect may cause worsening of the symptoms. Get examined get treated (conservative or surgery) at the earliest. In the meantime take care of your hygiene and do not overstrain the area affected.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
