Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
There's a few small hard bumps on the middle of the back of my tongue. One is a bit larger (or damaged) than the rest likely since while cleaning my tongue with a plastic tongue scraper, I scraped into it. It hurts whenever I clean my tongue so I've tried avoiding it when cleaning though it's right in the middle. Gladly, it doesn't normally hurt like when eating. The rest of the bumps don't hurt.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of small hard bumps on the tongue which occurs when papillae become irritated and slightly swollen and constant irritation of tongue scraper exaggerating your condition. It could be due to combination of multiple factors such as dehydration, stress , hormonal changes and acidic and spicy food. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to maintain complete oral hygiene. Do warm saline rinses 2-3 times a day. Apply ora base gel on these blisters as it will reduce your symptoms. Drink plenty of liquids and vitamin supplements. If condition doesn't get better in few days then consult oral pathologist for proper checkup and rule out condition like herpes or canker sore. Go for biopsy of lesion as well if symptoms keeps on persisting.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
