What Causes Small Hard Painful Lump On The Top Of Ear?

I have a hard small lump on the top of my ear at the crux of the helix (think that s the area). It started out red and inflamed inflamed and sore to touch, but now it s not sore, just just a lump that I can hold between me fingers and kind of move. Just wondering what this could be?

Hello,
Thank you for using HCM,
I read your question and I understand your concern.

What you are describing looks lile a cystic lesion, which have developed after a folliculitis. It may be reabsorbed in the future gradually or may become infected at some point, or even become bigger gradually.
For now though seems to not be a problem except for the cosmetic side. I would say keep an eye on it, and don't worry. It is not a dangerous lesion. If it getts infected or bigger to the point that bothers you, it can be removed surgically very easily.

Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care.
