Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For about a week now. I have been developing small hives on my FACE FOR NO APPARENT REASON. this happens at any time and not following anything Ive done. I apply a touch of cortisone ointment and it usually goes away. Not using anything different on my skin nor any new stress. YYYY@YYYY Age 84.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of small hives all over the face, well hives are body's response to any external stimuli that irritates skin. It is usually harmless unless it starts systemic reaction and symptoms in body. Need not to worry. Avoid touching or pricking rashes. I would suggest you to immediately consult dermatologist or doctor for proper evaluation of the condition and treatment. Doctor may perform skin test and patch test to find extent of infection. Doctor can give adrenaline injection. For now take over the counter antihistamine drug like benadryl , give cold compresses to affected area several times and apply cream containing steroids .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
