Hello i m not quite sure what it is but i have two kind of lumps or muscles or bones, im not too sure, behind both my ears, the one on the right is a little bit different in shape but they re pretty much the same both sides. I have looked it up and i think i might just have a large mastoid process but no one i know has it and i cant find anyone online or any good images of what i have, so i was wondering what i can do about it as its making me feel very self conscious
As per your query you have symptoms of small lumps behind ears which seems to be due to mainly enlargement of lymph nodes behind ear i.e post auricular lymph node enlargement.
Need not to worry. You should keep area clean and dry as it will lead to infection otherwise and avoid excessive pricking or itching this area. You should take proper course of antibiotics like like Cephalosporin or Tetracycline and along with it t you should go for topical application of antibiotic ointment or lotion.
If symptoms keep son persisting you should visit ENT specialist once and get thorough examination done and start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
