The most important thing is to watch for signs of infection such as pus secretion fever or swelling of extremity and in this case, you should see the doctor who will probably prescribe antibiotics. Otherwise, you need some kind of antihistaminic ointment Also Apply an ice pack to a bite or sting for 15 to 20 minutes once an hour for the first 6 hours. Try a nonprescription medicine for the relief of itching, redness, and swelling such as Benadryl or Chlor-Trimeton. Hydrocortisone cream or calamine lotion may also be helpful. it is important not to scratch or manipulate the wound to prevent infection. You may cover the wound with a thin layer of petroleum jelly, such as Vaseline, and a nonstick bandage.
