Hi..
Thanks for writing to us.
I have noted your complain of having small bumps over the tongue after a recent exposure to
cold.
Such similar bumps can be seen during cold due to inflammation of the tongue papillae that contains
taste buds and these papillae get red and raised due to infection leading to Lingual Pappilitis.
Many a times after a bout of cold and side effect of medication there can be eruption of mouth ulcers or
canker sores that will also give similar presentation.
But there is no need to worry about it as the bumps will resolve within a week irrespective of the either of cause.
You can simply take symptomatic remedies to relieve pain and discomfort.
1.Start applying
Xylocaine jelly over the bumps to relieve pain, you should apply atleast half an hour before meals t prevent burning during eating.
2. You can start taking Vitamin B complex supplements.
3. You can gargle with warm saline solution.
4. Avoid eating spicy foods, soft drinks and anything that is hard and sharp.
5. To reduce inflammation cold application will help and for this cool water rinses or sucking ice will relieve..
Hope you get well soon..
Thanks and regards.
