What Causes Small Painful Lump On The Buttocks?

I have a small swollen sore painful pink lump on the top my right butt cheek almost in middle of my Intergluteal cleft. I have done research and think it is a pilonidial cyst but I m not sure because it has no head and is small compared to others iv seen. It feels internal. Is there anything else that it could possibly be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Lump in the middle can be most likely pilonidal cyst. If it is mild it might help with hot fomentation and antibiotic therapy. Better to get it examined by a general surgeon to rule out the condition. If it is persisting then excision of it should be performed surgically.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
