What Causes Small Red Bumps On Inner Side Of Lower Lip?

I have a tiny little red bump towards the inner part of my lower lip, its very small and doesn t look like an actual cold sore but I m terrified that it may be and cold sores really terrify me. Anyway it s only slightly raised and very small but red and I bit it a little and it seemed to go down after that. Is there anything other than herpes that may be causing this?

Hello,
You may have irritated tissue caused from a dry mouth, acidic food, slight trauma, allergy or other irritant. Avoid anything that is considered an irritant including smoking and alcohol. Keep well hydrated and rinse a few times a day with warm salt water. Do You have any habits that cause you to rub your lip against your teeth? This could be playing a musical instrument. Any sharp or broken teeth? If you tried any new dental products or diet change, suspect an allergic reaction. Even seasonal changes with dry heat can cause a dry mouth. Snoring or getting over a cold could be a contributing factor.
Viruses need to run through your system. There are some medications that can help if you catch it in an early stage, but other wise you just treat the symptoms with a gel such as benzocaine. Viruses wil tend to develop into a larger ulcerated area. The virus is not necessarily Herpes.
Thank you for your inquiry. I hope some of my ideas are helpful.
