What Causes Small Red Lumps At The Back Of Throat Along With Prominent Veins?
I have small orange bumps in the back of my throat and there are some veins to be seen. I have no pain at all, just a little soreness some days ago. I feel fine, a little tired and with less apetite but fine and I dont have runny nose...what could this be
These small bumps at the back of the throat may be indicative of bacterial pharyngitis or tonsillitis. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT, get CBC, swab and sputum tests done. If required you may have to get few imaging tests done. In the meantime, gargle your throat with warm salt water 2-3 times a day. Give voice rest.
Take semi solid food like oat meal, porridge, khichdi. Stay well hydrated, take adequate sleep. You can take anti inflammatory medicines like acetaminophen or Combiflam for relief. You will need a course of antibiotics orally or intravenously for quicker relieve. It may take 7-10 days to get better. Sometimes, surgery is needs to be done in case of tonsillitis.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
