What Causes Small Red Patches Of Dry Skin On The Face?

small red patches of dry skin on my face. One in the center of my forehead in between my eyebrows, one on each cheek and one closer to my right sideburn. The patches have been present since christmas, I started using a moisturizer and while I wouldn t say I use it frequently, I try to use it at least once per day. Occasionally the lotion has had a small temporary effect, but not much. Do you have any idea what this might be?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per you query you have symptoms of small red patches of dry skin on the face which is pointing towards a condition known as SUNBURN and it could be PHOTOALLERGIC DERMATITIS.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid excessive exposure to sunlight. If you will go outside cover your face with little wet cloth.

You should wash your face with cold water. You should avoid application of excessive cosmetics on face and apply cold compresses to your face. You should avoid itchiness on these rashes.

You should abroad spectrum sunscreen such as TANCARE to face rich in SPF 30. Apply cream containing Trentoin on face. Apply vitamin C serum at night.

If condition doesn't improve in a week or two you should then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe steroid ointment and retinoids. You can go for chemical peeling as well.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
