What Causes Small Yellowish And Greenish Spots On My Tampon?

Hi, I went swimming a few days ago when on my period (with a tampon on) and since then ive had small yellowish and greenish spots on my tampon. I ve only worn tampons a few times before and im a virgin. My mum told me not to worry about it and just to continue wearing pads. Should I be worried and is this an infection and what should I do? Also im travelling so going to a hospital right now would be difficult.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to bacterial vaginosis and associated yeast infection. A swab test will be helpful to rule out this. If you can go to doctor now you can use miconazole (monistat) cream for local application on vagina. Avoid soaps and irritants to wash the genital area and instead you can use just warm water or saline. Using intimate wash daily is also good to normalize vaginal PH and bacterial flora.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
