What Causes Smaller Images Visualized In One Eye While Having Fixed Dilated Pupil?
Hi...My right eye pupil is dialated (fixed) at this time. I notice my vision is this eye makes every look smaller than in the other eye. I have a cartaract forming in this eye and have had sx for it in 2009. I am diabetic(insulin dependent) w/kidney disease and heart failure. Does this eman I m losing my sight in this eye? Are there some eye drops to correct the eye issue? I have an appt tomorrow but I m seeking an answer now.
Diabetes may affect the vision by causing cataract and also by affecting the retina (diabetic retinopathy). It is important to have a check with an eye doctor and determine which of these is the cause of your vision change and also determine the needed treatment. Sometimes, laser therapy of the retina is needed if there is diabetic retinopathy and as for cataract surgery may be done for this as well.
Good control of the sugar levels is necessary to slow down any progression of eye problems in diabetes.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
