What Causes Sneezing,cold And Cough?

I have a cold that I have had twice now. It started with excessive sneezing, aches, then turns to a full on cold. I have a cough that is giving me rib pains. First it was the left side, now it is both. Is this something I need to get checked out? I have been using OTC meds, getting rest and now my cough seems kinda phlemy.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Welcome.
Presently based on the information, for sinusitis I would suggest you to drink plenty of water especially warm water. Warm salt water gargaling 3 to 4 times a day. Steam inhalation with few drops of eucalyptus oil in it 3 to 4 times a day. Lozenges like strepsil or cofsil few times a day. Need of antibiotic can be decided on examination.
Hope this helps.
Take care
