I have lots of cysts in my body. Most are hard and small (under an inch across) and I do not feel them unless I m touching them. A couple are smaller than a dime and hurt when touched. I have a recent one that is pliable but is about 4 across. With such a variety, I m confused.
Brief Answer - Cysts can arise through a variety of processes in the body
Explained Answer -
Causes of Cysts in body are -
1. "wear and tear" or simple obstructions to the flow of fluid, 2. infections, 3. tumors, 4. chronic inflammatory conditions, 5. genetic (inherited) conditions, 6. defects in developing organs in the embryo.
Most cysts arise due to the types of conditions listed above and are only preventable to the extent that the underlying cause is preventable.
