What Causes Soft Stools With Presence Of White SpeckS?
Hi I have been having soft stools lighter colour for over 2 months. Now I am noticing white specks in poop (not sure how long this gas been as I only just realised that it needs to be considered). I have had an endoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy all normal. Plus blood tests and stool tests all normal. I am following the FODMAP diet advice of a nutritionist plus taking probiotics and enzymes. I am worried about the white specks now and the poop not coming back to normal. I can do further testing of the poop to check for inflammation and parasites. What do you think the white specks are? I have examined and they feel hard to the touch.

As a first line management you can take laxatives like lactulose for symptomatic relief. In severe cases consult a gastroenterologist and get evaluated. We have to think of conditions like IBS.
