Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.
I can understand your concern. This hard swelling at
injury site even after 2 years could be due to
: Calcified hematoma
It occurs due to calcium deposition around collected blood (injury site) and inside it. Calcium deposits over a time and leads to hardening of collected blood.
For confirmation, you should
consult doctor. He will advise CT head to detect it. Treatment is either observation only if small and asymptomatic or surgical excision if large/symptomatic/cosmesis
: Scarred tissue - Thick scar at injury site can cause hard lump. It is usually asymptomatic, firm, mobile over bone. No treatment is needed for it.
Hope it will help you. Still no relief , you can consult doctor. The doctor might take
biopsy of swelling or get CT head to diagnose it. Further treatment will be decided after confirmation. Usually such small swelling (2.5cm) does not need surgery.
Thanks. Take care.
